This is a hypothetical calculator. The purpose of this calculator is to demonstrate how Lifetime Income Withdrawals are calculated, based on the inputs selected. This calculator uses current rates, which are subject to change, and is not intended to predict actual performance, nor is it intended to accurately represent the product’s full features and benefits.

In the hypothetical illustration above, the Income Base is used to determine the annual lifetime income payment. Rider charges do not reduce Lifetime Income Withdrawals. Once income has been started, the guaranteed Lifetime Income Withdrawal is locked in, assuming no excess withdrawals. If an excess withdrawal is made, the Lifetime Income Withdrawal values would be reduced and, in some situations, Lifetime Income Withdrawals may terminate. The Income Base cannot be withdrawn in a lump sum and does not have a cash value or surrender value. 

† Simple Interest is credited until the earlier of: 1) Maximum Fixed Accumulation Years is reached, 2) Client begins Lifetime Income Withdrawals, or 3) Premium less withdrawals equal zero.

^ This benefit if NOT long-term care insurance nor is it a substitute for such coverage. It is designed to provide additional access to funds when the annuitant's health changes and contract qualifications are met. Must meet eligibility requirements.

Enhanced Income Benefit. This annuity includes an Enhanced Income Benefit that increases your Maximum Lifetime Income Withdrawal amount if certain conditions related to confinement or activities of daily living are met. To qualify for the Enhanced Income Benefit, after a one year waiting period, the persons for whom Lifetime Income Withdrawals are based must be confined to a Qualified Care Facility or be unable to perform at least 2 of 6 Activities of Daily Living for 90 out of the last 125 days. Confinement to a Qualified Care Facility is not applicable in CA. Qualifications must be certified by a licensed physician.

The Enhanced Benefit Limit Period is 60 months as long as the eligibility requirements are met and the Accumulated Value is greater than zero.

Excess Withdrawals. Withdrawals taken during a Contract Year that are in excess of the Maximum Lifetime Income Withdrawal amount will decrease your Maximum Lifetime Income Withdrawal amount and could cause the income rider to terminate and Lifetime Income Withdrawals to cease. Excess Lifetime Income Withdrawals taken during a Contract Year may be subject to any applicable Withdrawal Charges and any applicable Market Value Adjustments.

Free Withdrawals. This annuity allows you to withdraw a portion of the Accumulated Value each Contract Year without a Withdrawal Charge or Market Value Adjustment. Lifetime Income Withdrawals are included in, and are not in addition to, the amount of any Free Withdrawals. Withdrawals and surrender may be subject to federal and state income tax and, except under certain circumstances, will be subject to an IRS penalty if taken prior to age 59½.

Withdrawal Charge. A Withdrawal Charge in accordance with the rate schedule will apply to surrenders or amounts withdrawn in excess of the Free Withdrawal amount for Athene Ascent Pro 10 as follows: 9%, 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%. For CA: 8.6%, 7.6%, 6.7%, 5.8%, 4.7%, 3.6%, 2.4%, 1.3%, 0.1%, 0%.

Rider Charge. Charge is 1.00% of the rider’s Income Base and applies for the full contract term. The Rider Charge is deducted monthly from your annuity’s Accumulated Value and Minimum Guaranteed Contract Value (MGCV). Rider Charges are not deducted from the MGCV in certain states.

Market Value Adjustment (MVA). An MVA is applied to the portion of a withdrawal or surrender that exceeds the Free Withdrawal amount during the Withdrawal Charge Period. The MVA may increase or decrease the amount of the Withdrawal or Cash Surrender Value of your Contract. If interest rates have increased, the MVA will be negative. If interest rates have decreased, the MVA will be positive. State variations apply.
